"Είναι οι άνθρωποι" translates to "It's the people." The over-arching concern absorbed while visiting my father's village Sykea in southern Greece is what will happen to the citizens. The country is in crisis. The world is watching. The people are waiting.
This is Vangelis ( Evangelos or "Angel") He is the neighbor and friend of my family's farm. With a smile that would rival any golden age of Hollywood actor, he's a man of few words. Vangelis lives by himself, surrounded by his olive tree farm, a dog, many chickens, cats, kittens and the largest goats I've ever seen. He lives off his land and is quick to share a bag of zucchini or oranges. His nephew, "Jimmy," carries his giving spirit, always the first to show up with the largest vessel of his incredible wine.
"It's the people."
